ECCC Advanced Skills Trainer Blake Warren hands out M3 Credentials
East Central Community College (ECCC) has awarded the first M3 Credentials in the WAEM Region. M3 is the "modern multi-skill manufacturing" credential developed by the WAEM WIRED Initiative.
Lucretia
Williams, ECCC’s Personal Development
Specialist, was the keynote speaker at a graduation ceremony held
Wednesday, July 23 in Choctaw, MS, for participants who had earned the M3
Credential while participating in a five-week summer program. This
program was offered through ECCC’s Integrated Technologies Training
Center located in the Choctaw Tech Parc and made possible through a
proud partnership with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
"These
individuals were among the first to earn the M3 Production Level Credential, " said
Roger Whitlock, Dean of Workforce Development at ECCC. "This is a regionally accepted credential for standardized
training in areas such as safety, communication, computer fundamentals,
electrical circuits, measurement tools, pneumatics, hydraulics,
automation operations, and blueprint reading in a manufacturing
context. It’s a “win-win” situation; those receiving certificates will
be able to present their prospective employers with this Credential
showing that they have the right core technical skills and knowledge to
perform the job and the company saves time and training dollars."
This
program is just one shining example of what the ECCC Workforce
Development Staff, the training center, and the WAEM WIRED Initiative can offer. For more information on the M3
Credential or customized training, contact Roger Whitlock, ECCC Dean of
