Building investor networks

 

One major challenge most regions face involve strengthening the networks of investors within their regions. What are some of the lessons we have learned? Gardner Carrick set us off in this direction with these questions: 

I'm interested in whether regions have incorporated investor forums or other capital formation events into their strategies for building entrepreneurship and training individual entrepreneurs. 

  • How did you set up these events? 
  • Where did you find interested angel/venture capitalists?
  • Did any major successes result from the events?
  • Any advice for regions planning to do the same type of events?
